"First Snow, Emerald Bay"
Fine art photographer Timothy Ross' newest scene is the result of over two years in planning.  Wanting to create an iconic view of Emerald Bay, Ross captured the first snow of Winter 2007 on a beautiful sunny day with the gorgeous blue colors of Emerald Bay framed by snow-frosted green pine treess and the Carson Range mountains in the distance. Notice the green shallows slipping into sky blue waters toward Fannette Island and the wonderfully lit entrance to the bay.

"Emerald Bay Window"
Taken in late October 2006 on a peaceful fall morning, Timothy's "Emerald Bay Window" provides a close up window on the stony majesty of Fannette Island and its crowning glory, the now-empty Tea House.  Vikingsholm-builder Mrs. Lora J. Knight used to entertain her guests at the teahouse for "high tea at the top of the world" during the 30's.  In this carefully planned photograph, you'll also see some golden aspens, the rocky trail leading down to Vikingsholm Castle (now a public attraction), glassy water reflections of trees and the island, and soft waves in the foreground.  The image is nothing short of a "piece de resistance."

Artist Information
 
 
Born in the San Francisco Bay area, fine art photographer Timothy Ross studied art history at San Jose State University,
landscape photography at Lake Tahoe Community College and photographic composition at Mountain Light Galleries in Bishop, California
which was founded by the late, renown photographer Galen Rowell.  Since 1983, Timothy has been producing
spectacular photographic images that do justice to the magnificent scenery of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada.

Timothy uses medium-format, 6 x 4.5 cm and 35 mm cameras with a preference for professional color transparency film.
